Emily Robinson (She/Her)

Emily Robinson | Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

Welcome, I’m Emily!

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) who provides warm, collaborative, and client-centred therapy for children, teens, and young adults. I support individuals seeking help with anxiety, emotional regulation, identity development, and life transitions. In addition, I offer affirming care for neurodivergent clients, including ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), as well as those exploring queer identity and belonging within the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

My Approach to Therapy

I believe clients are the experts of their own lived experience; therefore, my role is to support reflection, increase self-understanding, and gently guide meaningful change. Together, we create a grounded, non-judgmental, and inclusive space where clients feel safe to explore their experiences at their own pace.

Moreover, I aim to balance compassion with gentle challenge, helping clients build resilience, strengthen coping skills, and move toward sustainable personal growth.

Areas of Focus

I work with clients experiencing:

  • ADHD and neurodivergent-related challenges
  • Anxiety and emotional distress
  • Emotional regulation and boundary setting difficulties
  • High-functioning trauma and stress responses
  • ASD support and coping skill development
  • Identity exploration, including queer identity
  • Relationship and interpersonal challenges
  • Life transitions and adjustment concerns

Furthermore, I provide culturally responsive support for recent immigrants and refugees navigating change, identity, and emotional adaptation.

What to Expect in Session

My practice is grounded in Person-Centred, Solution-Focused, and Gestalt therapies. However, I also integrate CBT, DBT, mindfulness practices, somatic awareness, and art therapy to create a flexible and individualized treatment experience.

Because every client’s needs are unique, I draw from an eclectic, evidence-informed framework to support emotional awareness, insight development, and practical coping strategies. Additionally, creative and experiential techniques may be used to help clients express thoughts and emotions beyond words when helpful.
