Samantha | Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

Welcome, I’m Samantha. I believe therapy is a space to reconnect with the parts of yourself that may feel hidden, overwhelmed, or unheard. My approach is grounded in presence, curiosity, and honesty, allowing us to build trust together at a pace that feels comfortable and supportive for you.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from York University and I am currently completing my Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. Additionally, nearly a decade of professional experience, combined with my own mental health journey, has shaped my compassionate and realistic understanding of how healing and personal growth unfold.

A Collaborative & Compassionate Space

I understand that reaching out for support can feel overwhelming, especially when you are already carrying stress, grief, or emotional pain. Therefore, I strive to create a welcoming and pressure-free experience where you feel heard, respected, and supported throughout the process.

Together, we can explore your story, identify meaningful goals, and develop practical tools to help you feel steadier, more connected, and more like yourself. My role is not to judge or direct your path, but rather to walk alongside you while supporting growth, healing, and self-understanding.

Areas of Focus

I support individuals navigating:

  • Anxiety and emotional overwhelm
  • Trauma and trauma-informed care
  • Relationship and family conflict
  • Women’s mental health concerns
  • Men’s mental health support
  • Grief and loss counselling
  • Bipolar disorder and emotional regulation
  • Habit change and behavioural patterns

Furthermore, I provide a non-judgmental environment where clients can explore challenges, strengthen coping skills, and build greater emotional resilience.

Therapeutic Approaches

Because every person’s experiences are unique, I tailor therapy to fit your individual needs rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach. My work integrates evidence-based and holistic therapies, including:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Solution-Focused Therapy
  • Narrative Therapy
  • Psychodynamic Therapy

In addition, I incorporate somatic practices, experiential exercises, role play, and addictions-informed care when beneficial. By focusing on the connection between the mind and body, therapy can support deeper emotional awareness, practical coping strategies, and sustainable change.
