Carissa | Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) based at Atlas Therapy’s Cambridge office. I support teens and adults across Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo, and nearby areas.

I help clients facing challenges like depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, stress, and burnout. I also work with individuals navigating emotional regulation, low self-esteem, confidence issues, and family transitions. Whether you’re struggling to manage overwhelming emotions or feeling stuck during a period of change, I aim to offer a space where you feel seen, heard, and supported.

I hold an Honours degree in Psychology from the University of Guelph, with a focus on developmental behaviour. Since 2011, I’ve worked with children, teens, and young adults in various settings. I also have specialized training in supporting at-risk youth, giving me insight into how life experiences shape emotional and behavioural patterns.

My approach is holistic and integrative. I tailor therapy to each client’s unique story, strengths, and goals. I’m trained in a number of therapeutic modalities, including:

  • Person-Centred Therapy (PCT)

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)

  • Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)

  • Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT)

I also emphasize trauma-informed care and cultural responsiveness in every session. I believe that therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all, and meaningful change happens when clients feel safe and empowered in the process.

Therapy can feel intimidating, especially when you’re just starting out. But I see you as the expert of your own life—I’m here to listen, support, and guide. Together, we’ll explore new ways to manage your mental health and strengthen your well-being.

If you’re curious about working together, I welcome you to book a free 15-minute consultation to see if we’re a good fit.
